Key Features

1. Deel Employer of Record (EOR)

Deel acts as the legal employer for global and remote teams all over the world through its global EOR solution.

It provides:

  • International hiring and onboarding in more than 150 countries through its network of owned entities and local partners
  • Global payroll and benefits administration, ensuring that employees are paid on time, in the right currency, and with all necessary deductions in place.
  • Integration with the new (2023) full-stack Deel HR platform, meaning global enterprises can manage employees they directly employ (‘direct employees’), employees they hire through Deel EOR (‘EOR employees’), and contractors, all in the one interface.

2. Deel Payroll and payments

Deel is not just an EOR. It also has an in-house payroll solution meaning that the payroll of direct employees (i.e. employees for whom Deel is the legal employer) in 90+ countries can be managed on the one Deel platform. It also allows client companies to easily benchmark salaries, as well as to manage employee expense reimbursements.

Deel offers 10+ funding methods for clients, 7+ payments methods for contractors, and supports payment using local bank transfers, SWIFT, PayPal, Payoneer, Revolut, Wise, cryptocurrencies and other options.

Deel is the only global EOR that supports contractors through a physical payment card

3.Deel  HR

Deel now offers a complete Human Resource Information System (HRIS) solution, replacing the need for the many dozens of HR apps and programs that make up some companies’ HR stacks. This handles:

  • HR analytics and reporting, including global costs and churn
  • Paid Time Off and expense tracking
  • Enterprise-grade security and permissions management
  • A People Directory, collating personnel information across the company
  • Numerous add-ons and integrations including background checks.

4. Deel Compliance

Compliance is at the heart of the Deel HR solution, and is the reason that we rated it the best EOR for compliance in our top 10 EORs report. As an additional service, Deel offers ‘Deel Shield’ where it assesses workers for their correct classification as an employee or a contractor, and indemnifies the client for any misclassification liability.

All contractors and employees are set up with the right documentation on file, so they’re ready to work from day one. All employee information is held securely and in full compliance with GDPR requirements.

Deel is also SOC2-compliant, and runs KYC checks.

5. Deel Platform

Deel HR is a free global HRIS, saving client companies an estimated $20,000 on its tech stack.

As well as enabling companies to manage EOR, global payroll, and contractors all from the same platform. Alongside Deel HR sits ‘Deel Engage’, a set of HR Slack plugins set up to help distributed teams to build culture and manage time off requests, 1-on-1 meetings, candidate referrals and more.

Deel HR meets the highest level of enterprise security standards with full GDPR, SOC2, and ISO 27001 compliance, as well as annual third-party audits to ensure platform and infrastructure security: Custom permissions ensure that employees only access the appropriate functions in the platform.

Deel Pros and Cons

Pros

Benefits of engaging Deel include:

  • Deel HR — a platform for “managing everything, everyone, anywhere”. Deel HR is an all-in-one global employment platform taking care of EOR, payroll, and contractors through one intuitive interface.
  • The Deel API and 15+ integrations. Deel integrates with key accounting packages (such as Xero and Intuit Quickbooks) and HR platforms (such as BambooHR).  It also has an extensive range of Slack plugins (Deel Engage).
  • Payment flexibility, including more than seven payment methods for contractors and employees, as well as cryptocurrencies, and 10+ payment methods for clients.
  • Compliance and security. Deel Shield, plus enterprise-level security and data protection on its platform make Deel the no 1 choice for compliance-conscious businesses.

Cons

Some potential downsides of using Deel include:

  • Deel currently does not offer a payroll-only service in every country that it operates in. However, this is currently in development, and will be available shortly.
  • The EOR solution is not the cheapest on the market (starting from $599 per employee). Note, however, that the Deel HR platform itself is free, meaning that overall, Deel is one of the most cost-effective full-stack HR offerings available, overall.

Deel Benefits

Deel means complete service and pricing transparency.  Deel has a claim to being the most trusted HR and employment partner in the industry due to the detailed and evidence-backed descriptions it provides of its products on its site and in its advertising. By contrast, many of its competitors are vague or evasive about their offerings.

Client companies who need 100 percent trust in their partners, products and compliance can’t go wrong with Deel.
